Founded in 2009 by John Schneider, Everett Dahlberg, and Dave Fahlgren, 520 Machinery Sales, LLC was built by three machine-tool professionals who regularly stayed after hours at a Chicago-area distributor to get the job done. Known as the “5:20 Crew,” the name stuck—and so did the work ethic.
Today, 520 Machinery Sales is recognized throughout the machine-tool industry for honesty, integrity, and hands-on customer service. We partner closely with our customers to help them grow their businesses, offering practical solutions backed by real experience.
We specialize in the sale of new and pre-owned CNC machine tools, along with a full line of precision products, replacement parts, financing, leasing programs, automation, and turnkey solutions. Our customers span a wide range of industries, including job shops, automotive, medical, aerospace, agriculture, energy, construction equipment, hydraulics, firearms and ordnance, mining, and more.
520 Machinery Sales is the exclusive Northern Illinois distributor for Smart Machine Tools and TAKAMAZ.
Pre-Owned Equipment Expertise
A core strength of 520 Machinery Sales is our Pre-Owned Equipment Division, which specializes in used CNC machine tools from brands such as Daewoo, Doosan, Haas, Milltronics, Toyoda, Hwacheon, and Miyano. Our dedicated pre-owned team—supported by seven new-equipment sales professionals—brings over 165 years of combined CNC equipment experience.
We help customers unlock value from under-utilized equipment by:
- Purchasing machines outright for top dollar with immediate payment and removal
- Acting as a seller’s broker to maximize resale value
- Reconditioning or reselling equipment as-is
- Sourcing machines from bank repossessions and auctions
Our goal is simple: create fair, profitable deals for both buyers and sellers.
Growth & Facilities
Since launching, 520 Machinery Sales has achieved multi-million-dollar revenue growth, posting over 200% growth in 2010 and 100% growth in 2011, while marketing nearly 400 CNC machines annually. This growth led to expanded offices and showrooms, and in 2014, the purchase of our permanent headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois.
